You and your family may qualify for low- or no-cost health
insurance and care options regardless of your immigration
status and ability to pay.
You may qualify for low- or no-cost health insurance through the New York State of Health
Marketplace if you are a:
Permanent resident (green card holder)
Refugee or asylee
U or T visa holder (for victims of crime or trafficking)
Employment authorization card holder
Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient
Applying for health insurance through the Marketplace will not affect your eligibility to become a permanent
resident, a U.S. citizen or a sponsor to your relative.
You may need to show one or more of the following documents to apply:
Regardless of immigration status:
Children 19 or younger can get low- or no-cost health insurance through Child Health Plus.
Pregnant women may qualify for free prenatal, delivery and postnatal care.
Immigrants who do not qualify for health insurance through the Marketplace can still get insurance outside the
marketplace and may still be eligible for employer-sponsored insurance.
With or without insurance, low- or no-cost health care is available through NYC Health + Hospitals. See the back
